Born with the real name Suzana Drobnjakovic on May 17, 1973, Sasha Alexander is of Serbian descent. Her screen name Sasha Alexander actually came from her combined childhood nickname, which is Sasha and her brother’s name Alexander.
Sasha Alexander began her love for acting at a young age. She found herself playing the lead female role in her school’s production of Baby when she was but in the seventh grade. Although her male co-star backed-out of the production the very night they were about to show, she used her comedic prowess to go on with the show. She continued her acting in high school and college plays. Her love for acting and theater has brought her to New York where she performed in Shakespeare Festival productions. Her portrayal of Katherine in Shakespeare’s comedy The Taming of the Shrew earned her the honor of studying in London with no less than Cicely Berry (voice director of the Royal Shakespeare Company).
